About Me

With a background in HR I made a decision a number of years ago to step away from the corporate world, instead working creatively with textiles and ceramics before gaining a Post Graduate Diploma in Person Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy through the University of Aberdeen, via Persona Training and Development. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP).

Having experienced both seats in the counselling room, I understand first hand the importance of feeling trust and safety within the relationship.  Having the opportunity to talk through my own issues not only helped me to better understand myself but also led me here, offering the same service to others.

I have experience of working with long and short term clients, dealing with a broad range of issues from work stresses to relationship/family concerns and loss. I’m very interested in relationships, not just the traditional/romantic concept of relationships, but also the ones we have with ourselves and the people around us, as a parent or a sibling, as an employee or employer, as an outsider, as we grow up or get older, as our bodies change or as our experience influences us - and how we change and adapt through all these experiences. For me, some of that comes from personal experiences including infertility and pregnancy loss, stress at work, parenthood.
